For years I have used nothing but Lancome because I carried their brand. And ever since one of my friends exposed me to local brands for their lipsticks, I just had to buy a whole lot and see which were the ones I could use. I was surprised to know that after testing them myself, they lasted LONGER and the colors are more intense! The pigment is absolutely perfect and requires minimal retouching. LOVE IT! Although I still recommend not scrimping on your foundations and blushes because these you will have to take time buying, but you can change your lipsticks as often as you change your underwear. It's the best and quickest way to update your look to match your makeup-mood!
Ok ok, I got a really carried away with the lipsticks, but I couldn't help myself. I was out today with my cousins, and one of our favorite pastimes is going to department stores and just try on makeup after makeup until our lips are sore from wiping off lipsticks, and our cheeks red from trying on blush after blush! I decided to look for nice day lipsticks for everyday. One thing about everyday-makeup is that you shouldn't over-do it. Otherwise, your evening makeup will look mundane.

Ever since Lady Gaga and Rhianna came stepped out of the red carpet wearing the hot pink lipstick, it has been illustrious ever since. I have had a number of women asking me where to buy hot pink lipsticks that would suit them best and I would suggest big international brands such as MAC, YSL, SHU UEMURA or MAKEUP FOREVER. These women would tell me that they were either too expensive for such a seasonal color, or it's always out of stock. So today, I went out on a quest to check Watson's for what they might have in store. And VOILA! The local brands carried nice lipsticks in wide shades of pink. I bought 2 shades that I found very nice on me:
I was at the SUESH Showroom last Saturday and conducted the first basic airbrush makeup seminar. It was my first time at Sheryll's showroom and I just fell in love with her cute store! It's a makeup artist's heaven! You can't leave empty handed!
Sheryll and I go way back. When she was starting her biz, she gave me a stippling brush to try and also my first set of 24pc. brush set... I fell in love with them instantly. Now, I don't use any other brush! Well, except for the other brushes that other brands gave me, like Shu Uemura and a few Lancome brushes, but majority of brushes in my artist's belt are SUESH. Anyhoo... After the seminar, Sheryll wouldn't let me leave empty handed and gave me 3 AMAZING products from her store : Since I posted the picture of my sister yesterday, I already got lots of emails asking what lipstick I used on her when I did her makeup for a wedding she attended. Margs, my sister was wearing a gown by Nicole Miller. A coral colored gown that really suited her slightly tanned skin perfectly well. I wanted to do a dark smokey-eye, nude lips look but I felt that it's a little bit over done already. So I decided to keep everything else nude and use a bright coral lipstick to brighten up her face. I know that it's not summer already but the weather and climate now a days beg to differ! So for her evening look, I did a summer look that is can both be used for a 4PM cocktail, and still classy for night. Manis and Pedis are up in this economy! Having your nails done are one way to up your mood, or one way to complete any look! You do not have to spend hundreds of pesos to have your nails done. With the right tools, you can do your own nails!
If you are anything like me, you will love doing your own nails. It relaxes me a lot and the satisfaction it gives me after accomplishing a perfectly polished nail makes me happy! Of course, I go to the nail salon when I need cleaning (about once a month) -just for cleaning, but changing nail color is as simple as 1-2-3! When wearing lipstick, regardless of what color, the question of whether coloring inside or outside the lines have always been an issue. Depending on the effect you would want to achieve, there is no right or wrong way when putting on your lipstick.
I took photos of my own lips so that you can see the different effects on coloring inside and outside the lines. I used a matte red lipstick so that the effect is more obvious: OH... MY... GOSH... The Beauty Blender has arrived in Makati!! I had been lusting over the Beauty Blender for quite sometime but it was an inconvenience for me to get. It was either you get it online, or go all the way to Greenhills in SprintAsia to get it. I know that it's not really that far to go, but with a busy schedule, I had no time to travel that far to get one. I first saw these adorable, useful little things from another makeup artist and I was able to try it out. All I can say is that it's AMAZING. You can use it with liquid foundation or powder but I prefer to use it with powder. The MAC or Suesh stippling brush is still best for applying foundation. When using with powder, dip the rounded part and dot your forehead, cheeks, tip of nose, and chin, avoiding the under eye area. Use a rounded brush and blend the powder to set your makeup. With the pointed tip of the sponge, dip the sides on powder and dot your under eye area starting from the inner corner of your eye working your way out. The pointed part of the sponge makes it easier to reach these places. Then, use a brush to blend. Anyhoo, going back... I was in Powerplant today and went through my usual route: BeautyBar, MAC, and then upstairs to PCX. I was there to shop for Epilin Wax and browsing the shelves for more stuff to buy when I saw it... The Beauty Blender sponge! Good day!
